365 Poems in 365 Days: More Mystery Family Letters

Dearest darling mother dear,
Lacey Lee taking a minute here
To assure you there is nothing to fear;
The body was only lightly seared
And the reporters too well bred to leer
(Except, perhaps, when on their beer)
Next time that I’m passing near
I’ll take a look at that plot to the rear
Where you say that ‘those folks are up to something queer’
Because of all the crazy gear
That makes strange noises that you hear.
Got to go, crime scene photos have appeared
Lacey Lee
PS Re: Jenny. Not going to shed a tear.

In number 199, Lacey Lee finally responds to her mother .
