I Read Stories: Limb From Limb by Annika Klein

Limb From Limb by Annika Klein in Trollsbreath

Her business cards say S Lowell, and she advertises discreet removal of tree limbs and other organic matter. Sarah, the real estate agent, calls her up, has her move a bear that’s raiding beehives. The bear's not actually dim, so when she offers to take him to where the fish run he goes.

They can’t pay her much. Instead she gets vegetables and honey and lamb, and a chest freezer to keep it in.

Business picks up, so much she need a calendar. Usually she only takes jobs at the new moon when she’s steadiest, or the full moon when she’s strongest. But each phase has it’s drawbacks.

She dreams of fire and fire cannot be controlled. She will be offered a job she does not want.
