I Read Stories: Girl In Glass, Brightly by Elou Carroll
Girl In Glass, Brightly by Elou Carroll in House Of Gamut
Elspeth is the glassblower’s daughter making exquisite spirit lamps, that glow with light from the dead. Annabelle Edavene is the eldest daughter of an Admiral who commissions a lot of glass. This latest though is from Annabelle’s fiancé who left it to Elspeth to make something pretty. To blow the bird and draw the cage, though the wings left burn marks on her body.
They have known each other since girlhood, and now Annabelle is to marry a duke. Even before the difference in their station meant they could not be seen together. Now, even less so, and so Annabelle dismisses it when Elspeth asks if they should run away together.
Elspeth will not allow Annabelle to marry her duke. Elspeth and Annabelle will be together no matter what it takes.
