I Read Books: The Sunrise Lands

The Sunrise Lands

Twenty years after the Change stopped electricity, gunpowder, engines etc working and ten years after the climax of the first trilogy, the lands of the Corvallis Meeting, formerly Oregon are mostly at peace. Then a stranger arrives, having travelled from Nantucket, the centre of the change (see also Island In The Sea Of Time trilogy).

Some of the younger generation of characters from the earlier trilogy (known to those who remember the former world as “Changelings”, those who accept the weird neo-medieval-mystical world as it is) decide to form a fellowship and quest to Nantucket to look for the sword of the lady. Of course there’s a weird cult (Church Universal and Triumphant or CUT) that formed out in Paradise Valley, Montana that wants to stop them.

The fellowship find themselves caught up in fights between the CUT and the Mormons of New Deseret and then the United States of Boise. As it ends the CUT seekers display uncanny powers.

Read This: For more neo-adventure fiction as the world of the change starts to get a bit more legendary and magical.
Don’t Read This: If men and women crossing a post apocalyptic America with various hybridised historical militaries and political arrangements sounds dumb
