I Read Books: Grave Peril

Grave Peril

I have never got into Harry Dresden so I am puzzled as to why I had book 3 of the series sitting in my “to read” pile. Anyway, it has made its way out of the to read pile, through the “am reading” section and is now “read”. So what happened in the novel?

Harry Dresden is a wizard in contemporary Chicago and ghosts are causing havoc. He’s got the help of a knight of the cross, and maybe the police department’s special investigations team, but also his Faerie Godmother after him to serve her as a hound (probably literally?), and the Black Court of the Vampires has invited him to a reception that is probably a trap. This plays out approximately as you might expect; badly for all concerned.

It’s a little clunky, at times, everything that appears to be a trap is actually a trap and Harry walks in with spectacularly self-destructive and ridiculous plans. A lot of fun.

Don’t Read This: If a lot of supernatural beings trying to awkwardly outwit one another is not your thing.
