I Play Games: The Trader Of Stories Chapter 3
At the end of Trader Of Stories Chapter 2 the amnesiac Little Willow is recognised by someone who knows her. Playing as her you travel to what was her home village.
There you meet her sister, and her niece, and try to figure out who you used to be. But everyone already knows who you are, and after you left they’ve got on with their lives. They have things they need to do. And as this is a point and click visual novel adventure game, you need to help them. Even those who don’t want your help.
As ever this looks gorgeous. And though the economy of the village is weird, it explains the style of the buildings, and the recent changes that dig deep into the backstory. But the more you learn the worse things get and the more people’s refusal to help becomes clear. You were not a nice person as Myosotis. You went out of your way to hurt people.
If the final reveal is a bit inexplicable (five years? Really?) it’s then topped by the merging of the mythical, story elements into the ongoing story. It’s a tragedy, and on top of that a past tragedy. Though not totally, and maybe you’ve helped make things better.
