I Watch Films: A Reflection Of Fear

A Reflection Of Fear

In eastern Canada, a 15 year old daughter, her mother and grandmother live in isolation in a large, rambling house. The daughter talks to her dolls, especially one called Aaron, studies pond life, takes regular injections of what we’re told is insulin, though the labels are missing. Then her estranged father returns with his new girlfriend, wanting a divorce.

She’s excited and keen, hoping he will be in her life. The mother and grandmother are against it, offering to accede to the divorce if he promises to leave and never see them again. He’s concerned by how child-like and isolated she is, how strange in fact, yet is ready to make the choice.

Then someone, possibly Aaron who the daughter has been talking to, kills the mother and grandmother with his stick.

Watch This: A strange, paranoid, spooky film about family, identity, gender and murder.
Don’t Watch This: The final reveal is both inexplicable and not an explanation
