Dead Men Walk

At a funeral the local busybody claims that it’s all bad. She’s ushered out but it turns out the dead man, the brother of the local doctor, was involved in all kinds of occult stuff. His hunchbacked servant suspects he’s been murdered, and then he (the brother) rises from the grave, to walk the earth again.

He’s played by the same actor as his brother the doctor which may have made for some clever work in the confrontation scenes for a film made in 1943. Anyway there’s a niece and her fiancé, another doctor, and the dead man makes her ill, also kills some villagers. The surviving villagers blame the doctor, because he treated them all, and he can’t blame the real culprit (he’s dead).
