Ursa Major escapes her universe – our universe – on an alien aethertrain as it passes through. They go through and between the ten billion utopias, worlds where everything is okay. Good even. She is a stowaway and that is not a problem, the trains will carry whoever gets on.

That’s not enough. The story is that Ursa Major comes from one of the bad universes, where things are not okay, they are bad, and so she’s the toughest raider. She forms a crew and they pirate a train and go wherever they want.

Maybe her story is true and maybe it isn’t. Maybe she’s tough and maybe that’s down to her. And if a bad universe can make her, maybe, just maybe it can become better.
