Amelia Shadows is the daughter of the world’s greatest and most evil magician. After studying magic and forbidden knowledge for many years he came to the conclusion that reality is bad and he should destroy it.

Amelia decides to stop him. He’s had some setbacks and has vanished; to find him she needs the Black Pearl of Askotha. So she works through her contacts looking for it.

There are secrets, and magic battles (everyone is suspicious, after all she’s the daughter of the world’s greatest and most evil magician). But more than that there are reveals and plots and clever plans that aren’t quite as clever as they seem. Magic is power, but it’s also a trick.
