I Watch Films: Frankenstein Created Woman
Frankenstein Created Woman
Hans works for Dr Hertz who works for Baron Frankenstein (Peter Cushing). Frankenstein has a plan to take the soul from a newly dead corpse and then put it into another body. Hans, the son of an executed murderer is accused of the murder of the town’s café owner. He refuses to offer his alibi (he was in bed with Christina, the café owner’s disfigured and partially paralysed daughter) and so is executed in turn.
Frankenstein gets to work on his experiment, but using the soul of an unjustly executed man will never be a good idea. The murderers, three posh dandies who previously tormented Christina and fought Hans are going to be in trouble – especially as they will not recognise the body he now inhabits.
Watch This: Old school Hammer horror with a little bit of
thought to the concepts
Don’t Watch This: The film vaguely gestures at some
interesting ideas but then decides to just be vengeance from beyond the grave
