An Explorer's Cartography Of Already Settled Lands by Fran Wilde

A moderately interesting frame story about the arrival of a generation ship to an already settled place, and the efforts of the captain and navigator to decide what to do, is almost entirely eclipsed by the various maps the navigator, later historian, finds. Shadow maps, blood maps, sand maps, a map of shouting. An old-fashioned list of impossible maps that come together to say something about this world.
