I Read Stories: Riverine by Danielle Jorgensen Murray
Riverine by Danielle Jorgensen Murray in Reckoning
She married the river-man and he changes every time they meet, sometimes a fish, sometimes a duck. Her father had made a deal or followed a story or something.
The river-man is more river than man. What does he want with a wife? Why has her father made this arrangement? He tells her she can swim wherever she wants, except under the alders but he won’t say why.
She doesn’t know what an alder looks like.
