I Watch Films: Casino Royale
Bond is back! The first Daniel Craig Bond film. Does it hold up?
The action scenes do. I’d previously thought there weren’t many jokes in it but actually there’s a fair few. More nodding wryly to oneself bon mots than smirking or laughing out loud but they’re there.
Bond is a little more obvious about his methods here. “I know where you keep your gun.” He’s a thinker as well as a blunt instrument, and that is why he keeps disappointing M, doing half the planning then charging in to break heads.
Anyway, not bad.
Watch This: For brutal action, perhaps pushing the Bond envelope?
