The Creature From The Haunted Sea

It’s the Cuban revolution and Renzo Capettto, a deported American gambler and mobster, has been employed to smuggle gold out of Cuba for a general. Aboard the ship is his girlfriend, his girlfriend’s brother, a secret agent and a gangster who makes animal noises, also the general, his translator and some Cuban soldiers. Capetto fakes a sea monster to divert to an island off Puerto Rico where he sinks the boat, intending to get rid of the Cubans and recover the gold later.

Things go wrong. There’s a real monster. The Cubans are all expert divers so insist on joining the search for the treasure. The main characters find women on the island and hook up with them. The secret agent messes up time and again.

It’s sporadically funny, and the monster is goofy looking.
