Lacey Lee is visiting her mother and catching up with friends in her home town. Yet there's no rest for a private detective extraordinaire. Little Chantry has always been a hive of strange if inconsequential activity and now her Mum's neighbour has a problem; dog poop keeps appearing in his garden. Yet no dog should be able to penetrate the fence that protects his prize-winning vegetables.

Lacey has to navigate the complex currents of her home town, which has newly become a tourist destination after a successful TV show was filmed there. Daytrippers keep getting stuck in Boggy Lane, people hate her mum after she accidently closed down a pathway and worst of all, everyone wants to know what Lacey thinks about her former best friend marrying her ex-boyfriend.
