Hold Me Fast And Fear Me Not by Fiona Mossman in Crow And Cross Keys

Tam Lin goes to an interview at the Royal Conservatoire Of Scotland, hoping to become an archive assistant for music. He’s not good at being interviewed, sometimes answering questions with bland corporate speak from the job description, sometimes with blunt, single sentences.

Tam Lin has a gap in his CV. Tam Lin is a character from a ballad, one who has spent time in fairyland, at the court of the elf queen. He brings things that no one else can to the role. But maybe the panel don’t want that.

Tam Lin may not fit here any more than he did back in his own time.
