I Watch Films: The Werewolf

The Werewolf

A man walks into the deliciously named bar Chad’s Place in Mountaincrest. He doesn’t know where he is or how he got there, and needs lots of change. When he leaves a local ne’er do well tries to get his money. They fight, and the bad guy is killed, a passing old woman seeing something horrible and the body being mutilated.

It turns out he was in a car crash a couple of towns over, where two scientists used an irradiated wolf serum on him, because, uh, well they’re experimenting, they think making people immune to radiation will be useful in case of nuclear war or similar. They have a room full of animals in cages, some of which do not seem to be happy there.

When the man’s wife and son turn up looking for him they realise they probably shouldn’t have done this and resolve to go up to Mountaincrest to kill him. The sheriff has put a roadblock on the road, though as every scene with the roadblock has them letting through anyone, no matter how bad their story, I don’t know how good that turns out to be.

Anyway, the man is transforming into a werewolf, and everyone wants to shoot him except for the town doctor’s daughter, who’s engaged to the sheriff, so maybe it won’t end up tragic! Except for the various people who get mauled obviously.

Watch This: A bit of 1950s radiation flavoured monster fiction
Don’t Watch This: Other than the origin story it’s just a regular werewolf tragedy
