I Read Books: When The Devil Drives

When The Devil Drives

Jasmine Sharp, private investigator, managed to solve a fairly famous thirty year old missing persons case in the first book. This leads to some missing persons business which is generally easy, and good for the money, but usually ends up with having to inform the client that the person has died. So she thinks that’s how it will end when she takes on her latest case.

The missing-for-thirty-years woman was an actress, which was Jasmine’s plan before her mother died and she ended up investigating. And the last time anyone saw her was at the rehearsals for an ill-fated company that split apart. The people involved have scattered, but some are quite prominent.

Things rapidly get out of hand when one of the witnesses is shot dead at a performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream out in the countryside, which brings in Catherine Macleod, the police detective from the first book. Meanwhile threats bring back Glen Fallon, the man who killed Jasmine’s father and now her protector.
