I Read Books: Eric
Last seen trapped in the Dungeon Dimensions at the end of Sourcery, Rincewind the Wizard finds himself in the summoning circle of Eric, a teenage demonologist. He has three wishes, to live forever, to be king of the world and to meet the most beautiful woman. These inevitably are taken literally and so go wrong in entertaining ways.
The second plot strand is set in hell where there is a new king of hell who has set it up as a grinding bureaucracy and the tortures replaced by boring regulations which are, of course, more tortuious. As the two plots come together it becomes clear what’s going on in a nicely contrived way.
