I Read Stories: Mineral Bouquet by Lindz Mcleod

Mineral Bouquet by Lindz Mcleod

Dr Smiley “ae greate lover of winnes” has left a set of tasting notes in her diary. The tasting notes are extremely strange even by the standards of wine snobs, displaying parts of Dr Smiley’s life and a very strange world they live in. The notes themselves are about various prehistoric periods and the layers in the geological record they represent.

The framing story is that the diary has been found by far future researchers who have been missing parts of the diary, but hope to find more by sacrificing an assistant to the machine; they have an unusual view of the past and of humans.

Read This: Because putting the mind-bending into the structure of the story, at a fractal level, is a masterpiece of craftsmanship.
Don’t Read This: It is too weird, too odd and the framing story delights in its bloodthirstiness
