I Read Books: Shadows Return
Alec and Seregil are back. Unfortunately the war is still on and they’re sent on a delicate mission, to bring back the Queen’s sister from her embassy to the Aurënfaie.
It’s a trap. They’re captured and kidnapped and sold as slaves to an alchemist. Alec has previously been told that he will have a child of no woman by an oracle, obviously this doesn’t mean he will be childless, but instead that someone will purify his half-faie blood and then use it (and other body secretions) to create a creature.
Meanwhile Seregil meets a figure from the past and as he’s a slave it doesn’t go well. Basically the two main characters are put through the ringer and the others spend some time trying to find them.
