The Mad Doctor Of Blood Island

On Blood Island a naked woman is chased by a green monster, which dismembers her. Three Americans come on a ship to Blood Island; Bill Foster, investigating a chlorophyll disease; Sheila Willard, looking for her father; and Carlos Lopez who wants his mother to leave the island. The captain tells them the island is cursed, they picked up a man trying to escape on a raft, and he bled green and died.

On the island Sheila’s father is an alcoholic; Mrs Lopez doesn’t want to leave. The mysterious Dr Lorca won’t explain how Don Lopez, Carlos’s father, died. Foster and Lopez go to investigate the grave, to find it’s empty. Locals are being killed by a strange green creature. While failing to learn anything Sheila and Foster fall in love, meanwhile a local with green sores attacks the government house.

If we’ve seen a monster film before, or indeed read the title of the film, the mystery is fairly easily solved. Which leaves some shots of tropical Philippines, some skinny dipping women, some brief but gruesome monster shots and a lot of running and screaming.
