A kaiju appears through the portal. The humans have encountered them before. They know how to fight them. They know what to do, even if, perhaps, they won’t do it, they might disobey orders.

The creature feels their pain as well as it’s own. It attacks not because it can win – it can’t, it’s come to it’s end. It attacks despite the pain. Because it must.
