Ten Ways Of Looking At Snow Reflected Off Obsidian Armour by Avra Margariti in Haven Spec

She rides through on a great horse, clad in obsidian armour. She is cruel and magnificent. Our narrator gets up and rides with her. It is only later she asks the price; she thinks it will not matter, she will not return to her home.

The armour protects, it keeps safe, it does not keep warm. And it is always cold, living as a companion on the nightmare steed. They are kept apart by their armour. They are joined by their armour.

They made a deal, ten winters and the deal can only be made once.
