I Read Stories: Mid-Earth Removals Limited by R S A Garcia

Mid-Earth Removals Limited by R S A Garcia in Sunday Morning Transport

There’s a dragon in the reservoir, contaminating the water. Julia’s got to go collect the water, and the last thing she needs is some guy in armour and a spear threatening her. But she has a spell for this occasion, and Marlon, the warrior, discovers that the binding to his dark lord back on Mid-Earth doesn’t work here.

Julia takes Marlon home. They try to find him a job but it turns out that being a conscript for the Dark Lord doesn’t prepare you for life on 21st century regular Earth. The KFC, the road contractors, garbage collecting and even selling water and juice by the intersection – everyone’s short of water – don’t work out. But he tries, and he’s good with the baby.

Then Francis returns. He claims he’s been out on the rig, and that’s why he’s not been there to support the baby, but Cheryl’s name comes up. Marlon’s trained as a soldier, and he’s sworn to protect and serve.

And it turns out he has other talents too.
