I Watch Films: The Sadist (1963)

 

The Sadist

Three school teachers are on the way to see a baseball game. Their car breaks down and they make it to an out of the way garage. It seems abandoned but a man and a woman appear. They decide to hold them hostage.

As might be expected from the title, they don’t just try to rob them or have them fix the car so they can drive away. They decide to torment and then murder the teachers. Loosely based on a real event, it drags in the middle as the victims try to reason with the manic-appearing couple.
