I Watch Films: Midnight Fear

Midnight Fear

There’s an alcoholic detective (David Carradine) who is investigating the hideous murder of a young woman. There’s another young woman, who has been left behind on spring break to look after a horse. There’s a young man, a housemate of the young woman, whose trying to get into her pants. He’s not succeeding and he’s not – quite – pushing it too far.

There’s two brothers, one of whom has helped the deaf-mute other escape from an institution. All these come together. The film is creepy, and bloody though the worst and most gruesome bits happen off camera. The extended hostage situation was not especially good. The twist probably ought to be predictable.

Watch This: An odd, dark thriller with Carradine holding up one end and the strangeness of the brothers the other
Don’t Watch This: It’s slow, unpleasant and bad things happen to the horse
