Hysteria

A psychiatric institution is shutting down, and patient Veronica Bloom’s only option will be powerful drugs that make her zombie-like. Dr Samuel Fry takes her instead to see controversial mental health guru Dr Harvey Langston. Arriving there it seems the inmates run the asylum, until Myrna Malloy, a former dancer who now uses a wheelchair, and Langston himself restore order.

Langston has had some success with experimental techniques. Brain surgery! As they spend time in the home it becomes clear that everyone there is deeply weird. It turns out there are people looking to shut Langston down, and also allies of his in the local community that keep it open. The brain surgery has done more than just make people more functional.
