I Read Books: Consumption And Other Vices by Tyler Dempsey

Consumption And Other Vices by Tyler Dempsey

Two women are killed. Two detectives are on the case. They’re trying to learn all about them, to find some reason why they might have been killed, or at least who might have done it.

There’s drugs and sex and all kinds of strangeness. This quiet town hides furious activity underneath. Whatever happened to the two women is odder, wilder than anyone might expect. Supernaturally horrific.

Written in staccato scenes, with words and places and actions blurring together Consumption And Other Vices is a pacy novel less about who done it, and more about what is all this? Is this town what it seems? Is there something out there worse than the murder of two women?

Read This: A brisk supernatural detective horror that refuses to be constrained by any of that
Don’t Read This: If you want anything at all that happens clearly explained
Full Disclosure: I was provided a review copy by Malarkey Books in association with Death Of Print press
