I Read Stories: Mooncake by Jay Kang Romanus

Mooncake
by Jay Kang Romanus in Anathema

When the old sun retired the new, young suns took over. More and more of them in the sky. Nine suns, burning the land.

There’s a lady whose husband is a monster-killer. The strongest of men, yet even his bow cannot strike the suns down. The lady asks for more strength for him, but that is not what she wants, not what she needs.

This was long ago and now the mooncake is a sacrifice.
