Ted gets home to find that Joann has changed the locks and is throwing him out. Ted has been having an affair with Lenore, the mother of his daughter’s roommate.

This is something Lenore does, as her husband explains to Joann. This is something people do, the friends and neighbours tell her. But she’s not like them (they’re artists, and Danish). So she has to change things.
