I Read Books: Night Watch
Night Watch
Chasing Carcer, a murderer and psychopath, Sam Vimes finds himself back in time in the bad old Ankh-Morpork, before the Patrician came along and stopped the politics and fighting.
There’s some time-travel shenanigans, some how-to-police-under-impossible-situations and who ends up being the bad guy and who ends up being the worse guy. And how sometimes you might have to make a stand.
A good Discworld novel that I enjoy reading but am left feeling a little weightless. It has the time-travel problems of Thief Of Time but without those being at the heart of the novel perhaps? Sam Vimes wants to get home to his wife and child, and also save the timeline, but… I don’t know. We know there will be a tragedy but we also know things will work out.
Read This: It’s a cool time-shifting crime-thriller fantasy
comedy
Don’t Read This: Sam Vimes trying to get back to the future
is not for you
