Inglam Mangpho tells a story about Loso, from the tribal tea gardens of Assam, who is bullied by his wife, and can’t get work because he is lame. But he prays to a tree and finds himself working in a shoe shop.

This might have happened or it might not. Loso might have been dead before he died. He might have had his prayers granted or not.

The story has no answers and only tragedy.
