I Read Silk And Smoke Issue One
Silk and Smoke Issue 1
This magazine has a piece by me. But there’s some good stuff too! Here’s a few that I picked out because they were excellent, interesting and/or I had something to say about them
Flying Start by T J Bowman
An hilarious and touching story of someone with the ability to fly... extremely slowly. However they are unable to control it when they sleep so they end up floating above the bed (eventually). This leads to some unusual events in their lovelife.
The Boy At The Altar of Delphi by Renee Jacobson
A short poem about meeting the divine and inexplicable.
Sympathy Card by Helen Ragan
A story about helping a neighbour when someone dies. About a lie that is on a sympathy card and what the truth of it is and how inadequate either are.
Of Mirrors And Music by Charlotte Platt
A story about a companion in the mirror and their taste in music, and how they do more than just keep company when things go wrong.
Madison by Chris Wright
A horror story about a being co-habiting in the body of a persecuted and abused girl. It gets very dark very quickly.
Bad Banshee by Amanda Butler
A poem about a banshee that does not act as a banshee traditionally does.
