I Read Books: Dime Store Magic
Dime Store Magic
Paige Winterbourne, last seen in Stolen, is a witch. She’s bringing up Savannah Levine, a young and very powerful witch. Her mother was killed and the elders do not approve of what she’s doing or that she is the leader of the coven.
Then a half-demon from Stolen gets in contact with a powerful sorcerer who is probably Savannah’s father. He wants to take custody of her and puts on pressure in the standard sorcerer manner; their Cabal’s act more like crime families than legitimate businesses. Paige needs help, which the Elders won’t offer. She needs a lawyer who specialises in magic, and one comes to the rescue, but can she trust this renegade sorcerer? And if she can’t trust him, maybe the romance elements of this series are working dangerously against her?
Things escalate out of control, Paige refusing to ask for help until it is too late and things occur that can never be put right.
Read This: Stolen is where Armstrong sketches out her Underworld setting, Dime Store Magic is where she begins to delve into the details and implications of her universe
Don’t Read This: Because urban fantasy filled with incident (and romance) doesn’t do it for you
