Preview: To Whom It May Concern

On Monday 1 July the latest chapter of my Age of Sail fantasy serial will be posted. This is an epsitolary story, which means that it is made up of fictional documents (usually, as in this case letters).

Lizzie O’Leary, doctor of medicine, has chosen to leave Whitland and home and take up a post with the Great Eastern Trading Company. As a keen correspondent her letters detail her continuing adventures which include shipwreck, robbery, and the failure of the authorities to believe a single word she says.

It is not a total loss however, as her exploits allow her to join several exploratory expeditions. If The Royal Society for Natural and Unnatural Philosophy accept her findings then it may turn scientific understanding of these lands and waters upside down. Until then she will just have to keep writing letters.
