I Read Stories: Moon Moon Moon

Moon Moon Moon

Kim Newman’s occult detective Richard Jeperson has another case, diving into a pop-culture-full milieu of the 60s. In this case the moon-landing. A magic cult is trying to prevent it happening. Jeperson and Special Agent Whitney Gauge (last mentioned in an alternate universe as one of alternate Jeperson’s vampire lovelies in the novella Aquarius, found in the back of my copy of Dracula Cha Cha Cha - review forthcoming) are tasked to find out what’s going on.

Everyone is moon-mad, which is exaggerated but also historically accurate. Newman threads his way through moon-and-sixties pop-culture references, also recycling Mildew Manor (also last seen in the alternate universe of Anno Dracula). If you’re old moon-fiction mad this is a lot of fun.
