365 Poems in 365 Days: Writing Poetry
Writing poetry is not hard work as such
Even if it requires a dextrous mental touch
Still, my brain feels oddly tired after a little too much
Number 230. If by some chance you ever get about a hundred poems behind and spend a month trying to catch up, you too might feel this. The worst is coming up with a couplet or triplet and realising you wrote a very similar but slightly better version a week ago.
You think coming up with an improved version of an older poem would be worse? Let me into a little secret; this is the internet and I can edit old poems. It doesn't happen very often, but several of the poems are in significantly better state than when I first hit post.
