365 Poems in 365 Days: The Elf-Mail Always Gets Through
My only wish is to obey the Elf-Queen
The Fey do not have servants by which I mean
Children may cook for elders, apprentices work for masters
Those who share a house share tasks to work faster
But for the queen our customs have been demoted
Even before the war some of us were devoted
This mission I am on is the most important she has asked
And despite storm and sword I will complete my task
But the burnt ruins of my destination reveals that I shall fail
I turn for home and in my heart suppress a wail
More elf poetry for number 220. I seem to have incorporated some of my thoughts on making elf society crazy different in the words.
