The Corpse Came In Person by Carlotta Dale in Punk Noir
A woman comes into the bar of the Angelus, she seems lost. Matt Bannister talks to her about the song, about tulips and windmills and the singer’s family being killed by Nazis. He offers her his couch for the night. She turns him down but later arrives in his room. It turns out she’s dead, been shot.
She doesn’t know why. She’d like to see windmills, but they’re pretty rare in Los Angeles. Still, Matt might be able to help.
