I Read Stories: The Gull Heart by Constance Fay

The Gull Heart
by Constance Fay in Crow And Cross Keys

The fisherman is cursed. He has had four wives and lives in a glass house by the sea. Each wife has left a mark on his face, around his eye.

He needs a fifth wife and one day he encounters the moon who tells him how to make himself a wife. It will require a sacrifice, one that he can’t – quite – bring himself to offer. And so his wife will one day fly.

Read This: For the mistakes we make and the gifts the moon gives and takes
Don’t Read This: Making a wife from whalebone is foolish
