I Watch Films: John Wick Chapter 3 ParaBellum

John Wick Chapter Three Parabellum

John Wick broke The Rules in the last John Wick film and has been declared excommunicado with a bounty of $14 Million on his head, increased to $15 Million after he fights and kills the first group to try and claim it. This is the last thing in the film that actually makes sense.

John Wick calls in all his last favours, gets out of New York, goes to Casablanca, meets an old flame who owns two dogs, goes with them to meet someone who tells him how to meet the Elder, who Sits Above The High Table, the people who run the secret world of assassins. There’s an extended fight sequence that includes several cool dog stunts.

Meanwhile in New York the High Table have sent an Adjudicator as they are unhappy with the people who helped John Wick. She recruits a guy who admires and wants to be a rival to John Wick. At one point he sits down in a manner that extremely resembles a scene with Keanu Reeves in The Matrix. For that matter at one point John Wick puts together a revolver from different revolver parts in a sequence lifted from The Good The Bad And The Ugly.

There are multiple extended fight scenes.

This doesn’t really have anything to it but it’s extremely stylish and I didn’t care that it made no sense while watching. Several fights went on very long but that’s sort of what this is about, enduring the unendurable and so forth.
