I Read Stories: Above The Ginkgo Trees
Above the Ginkgo Trees by Tomas Marcantonio
Ki-hyun’s wife has died and he moved to a tiny and cheap apartment. While on the roof one night, across the road, above the trees, he sees a party. Later he asks the woman in the new cafe below about it, but she knows nothing, so he buys a cake, muttering about birthdays, and leaves. Later she tracks him down to give another birthday cake, because the cafe does not sell enough and it would go to waste.
They try to join the party when it happens again but the roof is clear when they get there. So they go back to their roof and drink and eat snacks and watch the party from there.

Don’t Read This: If all that happens is two people getting to know each other isn’t for you
