Amabel is a Siren, has wings and can fly, has sonic powers. She’s a smokejumper, jumping out of planes to rescue people before fires – and with climate change there’s always fires. She takes chances because she knows how she will die, and she gets in trouble for taking those chances.

But her boss can’t take her off as there’s another mission. A fire threatening a dam, and they need to rescue some animal life. Important, but nothing that’s worth taking risks for. Until Amabel comes across a puzzle of a situation just as they run out of time.
